Quick Care Guide
-
☀️ Light: Requires Full Sun to bright indirect light. They thrive on sunny south-facing windowsills, in outdoor bog gardens, or under high-intensity LED grow lights.
-
💧 Water: CRITICAL: Use ONLY distilled water, reverse osmosis (RO) water, or clean rainwater. Keep the soil constantly wet using the "tray method" (allowing the pots to sit in a shallow dish of water). Never let the growth medium dry out.
-
⏳ Soil: Grow in a nutrient-poor, acidic mix of 50:50 peat moss and perlite, or pure long-fibered sphagnum moss. Never use standard potting soil or traditional fertilizers.
-
🌡️ Temperature & Dormancy: Drosera binata is a cold-hardy temperate plant. In late fall and winter, it will naturally die back to its roots to rest (dormancy) before exploding with massive, branched new trapping leaves as soon as spring returns.
