Sundew Seeds- Drosera Capensis 50+
A pack of 50+ seeds, Drosera Capensis, or , the Cape Sundew, is absolutely beautiful and easy to cultivate. Drosera Capensis, as its name would suggest, is originally from South Africa. Specifically, they are from the area around Cape town. That said, they have been cultivated here in the United States for many, many years, and are able to thrive here.
Once established, the are especially harder plants, and can handle the majority of what life will throw at them. They can tolerate weather with temperatures reaching highs over over 100 degrees farenheight, as well as lows well bellow freezing. This of course, may only be for brief durations, though. And, to add to their self sustainability, they are capable of catching themselves copious amounts of prey, thus resulting in its cultivators never being required to supply them with supplemental nutrients.
They do however, certainly need to be provided with an abundance of
Drosera Capensis, when healthy, will produce exceptionally beautiful pink flowers. These flowers line the upper portion of long stalks that immerge directly from the center of the plants rosette. Each stalk is capable of hosting numerous little pink flowers, and each flower is able to produce nearly countless seeds.
These seeds are quite small, to say the least. However, they are not to be underestimated, as each and every one is potentially capable of becoming a fully grown and gorgeous, Cape Sundew. And, thankfully, cultivating these amazing and beautiful Carnivorous Plant is very simple. The only part one may find to be challenging when cultivating from seed, is remaining patient.
In order to grow Drosera Capensis from seed, all one has to do is simply sprinkle the seeds all over the top of spagnum moss, milled is usally the best. it is not necessary or recommended, to cover the seeds with any of the media when sewing. Once one has placed all of their seeds on the top of the moss, which you should certainly soak before laying your seeds on top of, simply put a propagation lid on top of your tray or pot for good measure, and place it under a great light source.
Now, all you do is wait. Drosera Capensis can take over a month before you will see your sprouts begin to emerge, but hang in there. Because, once they begin to sprout, you will likely see a carpet of baby Sundews shinning their dewy fingers under the light.
