Incredibly, along with performing as completely functioning roots, pulling water into the plants, the roots of Utricularia are lined almost completely, with small bladder shaped, sacks made of the plants' tissue. These bladders contain nothing but air when no prey has been caught. However, on the ends of these bladders, there are numerous trigger hairs. When these hairs are contacted by a passing terrestrial insect or animal of some kind, a cleverly evolved mechanism allows for the mouth of these bladders traps to open up instantly, and since the inside, when closed,  these were filled with only air, now that they are opening they sucks in all of the surrounding water and animal life. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOnce filled up with the water and hopefully prey, the mouth of the bladder traps closes back up again, sealing all it has caught inside. And, to add to their self sustainability, they are capable of  catching  themselves copious amounts of prey, thus resulting in its cultivators never being  required to supply them with supplemental nutrients.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey do however, certainly need to be  provided with an  abundance of  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrosera Capensis, when healthy, will produce exceptionally beautiful pink flowers. These flowers line the upper portion of long stalks that immerge directly from the  center  of the plants rosette. Each stalk is capable of hosting numerous little pink flowers, and each flower is able to produce nearly countless seeds. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese seeds are quite small, to say  the least. However, they are not to be underestimated, as each and every one is potentially capable of becoming a fully grown and gorgeous, Cape Sundew. And, thankfully, cultivating these amazing and beautiful Carnivorous  Plant  is very simple. The only part one may  find to be challenging when cultivating from seed, is remaining patient. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn order to grow Drosera Capensis from seed, all one has to  do is simply sprinkle the seeds all over the  top of spagnum moss, milled is usally the  best. it is not necessary or recommended, to cover the  seeds with  any of the media when sewing. Once one has placed all of their seeds on  the  top of the moss, which you should certainly soak before laying your seeds on top of, simply put a propagation lid on top of your tray or pot for good measure, and place it under a great light source. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNow, all you do is wait. Drosera Capensis can take over a month before you will see your sprouts begin to emerge, but hang in there.
